What is the meaning of NABET?
National Accreditation Board for Education and Training (NABET), is a statutory board of Quality Council of India (QCI), an autonomous body set-up by Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI), Government of India (Gol). The Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP) is nodal ministry for QCI.
Why is NABET accreditation important?
The Accreditation Standard for Quality School Governance if understood and implemented in its true spirit will enable schools to improve and transform themselves. It helps schools to move from being individual/people driven to process/system driven. School Accreditation is not a threat or an invasion to privacy.
NABET offers accreditation framework for Quality School Governance in the country, with a view to provide framework for the effective management and delivery of the holistic education program aimed at overall development of school. NDMC and NABET-QCI have partnered to foster excellence in school education sector.
The goal of accreditation is to ensure that institutions of higher education meet acceptable levels of quality. Accreditation in the United States involves non- governmental entities (accrediting organizations) as well as federal and state government agencies (these three entities are formally known as the Triad).
Accreditation helps in protecting the interests of all the stakeholders - students, faculty, parents, and educators by mapping & evaluating the overall institutional performance on the basis of the programs offered.
